About me

Welcome I'm Alice, the owner of Welfare First Pet Care. A business based in Rayleigh, Essex providing two services; solo-dog walking and a guinea pig hotel. I am DBS checked, insured and canine first aid trained.

Whenever anyone asks me what is my greatest love is I always reply 'animals'. I have a passion particularly for pet welfare and have been involved with multiple animal charities over the years including Dogs Trust, Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund, and the RSPCA as a dog fosterer.

Guinea pigs have been apart of my life since I was 5 years old. Now 23, I have owned 17 of these incredible rodents and currently have a small herd of 4 girls. They live outdoors in a purpose built enclosure where they can express all their natural behaviours.

I have recently graduated with a first-class honours degree in Animal Welfare and Society. I spent three years thinking like an animal, understanding their motivations and behaviour and perhaps most importantly evaluating the human-animal relationship.

You have my word that kindness and compassion will always be at the heart of what I do. This is why I only offer services for pets I have experience and knowledge in and will always refer to other trusted professionals if appropriate.

Solo-Dog Walking

Prices start from £15 for 30 mins and £20 for 60 mins. Each walk is tailored to your dogs individual needs discussed at your free meet and greet.

All dogs are walked from your home, no stressful car rides and exercised safely on long lines for peace of mind.
